An associate pastor at a Wadmalaw Island church is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy.
A warrant charges Ronald Jones, 53, with criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the second degree.
The 15-year-old boy told a counselor at the Lowcountry's Children's Center that he was at a baby shower at Jones' home between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, 2008 when the suspect invited him into his room to watch television, according to a Charleston County Sheriff's affidavit.
The affidavit says the suspect rubbed himself against the boy and asked the victim to perform a sexual act on him.
The U.S. Marshal's office picked up Jones Monday night, Maj. John Clark, said.
A magistrate set bail at $100,000.
Jones has multiple convictions for breach of trust and writing fraudulent checks.
Authorities say he often preached at the New Jerusalem AME Church on Wadmalaw Island.
