Priest for trial on sex charges

A FORMER Armidale Catholic priest will go to trial in April on charges of sexual misconduct.

Peter William Dwyer, 67, now of Bellingen, faces 12 charges of abuse, most with a 13-year-old boy in 1982.

His trial at Sydneys Downing Centre District Court will begin on April 27.

Dwyer is one of nine former staff members of St Stanislaus College in Bathurst - five priests, two ex-priests, one brother and one lay teacher - who face a total of more than 200 charges over alleged sexual abuse of students in the 1970s and 1980s.

None has pleaded guilty.

Five have been committed for trial.

Charges against the nine men were laid following investigations by detectives attached to Operation Belle and a series of arrests from September 2008.

After leaving St Stanislaus in 1992, Dwyer worked at the main Catholic seminar in Sydney and became a priest with the Armidale parish.

Where are things up to with everybody?

There's been court appearances but nothing on your website.

There's a rumour that Spillane will walk? If he does the rest are poisoned chalices for the DPP?

As Part of the Coverup The Police have declined to provide me with future court dates. If Spillane Walks I will be able to exercise some much needed stress relief on youtube

Spillane probably will walk, in my experience the police always tell lies and magistrates do what the church tell them to. Don't forget the police knew about the extent of the abuse back in 2001, Just like other victims who were stupid enough to say anything about what was happening I was sent to a mental hospital and pumped full of drugs as well. And you might like to know that Spillanes name was on my deed of release from my civil claim. I never recieved a signed copy of the deed of release and no paperwork was ever filed in the court and the late David Catts did not keep my file it has gone missing. Because the Police will not address the coverup the file will never be found.
