Tag: usaAWRENCE, KAN. (AP) — U.S. deputies in Kansas have arrested a Catholic priest wanted in Texas on child sex abuse charges.
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested 51-year-old John Fiala in Lawrence on Friday after receiving a tip he was there.

Richard Heffron of the U.S. Marshals Service in Topeka said a warrant was issued Tuesday out of Edwards County, Texas, for Fiala’s arrest on four counts involving sexual abuse of a child.
Fiala is being held in the Douglas County jail on $100,000 bond pending an extradition hearing.
