William Casey Scheduled For Court Thursday

Former priest William Casey will appear in Sullivan County's Criminal Court on Thursday.

He's facing child sexual abuse charges.

Bishop Richard Stika released a statement on the upcoming arraignment, saying the church held healing sessions after the man came forward about the abuse. The man claims casey sexually abused him in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

Casey served as pastor of catholic churches in Kingsport and Greeneville. He admitted to the charges.

Stika says he is also confident in the decision to permanently suspend casey from his position as priest.

Casey was sentenced in McDowell County, North Carolina on similar charges and is facing charges of forcible sodomy and indecent liberties in Scott County, Virginia.
